Arts education is the education of the whole child.
It's All about Music!
We love MUSIC!

The students in 4th and 5th grade will continue to build their knowledge of Music and Music Appreciation. We will learn about composers, periods and styles. We will connect the learning in vocal and instrumental Music to the learning in other subjects. We will learn about ourselves, our community, the world and the music that moves us!
Recorder Order Form 2009
We will be starting recorder instruction in Fine Arts. Order forms are due Wednesday, November 18th! If your child already has a recorder, it must be brought to Fine Arts. It will be stored there until instruction begins. All students are expected to have their own recorder, and to practice during the week. We use a wonderful program called Recorder Karate, Booklet 1 uses a system of "belts" as a reward, then when the student graduates to Black belt, we will move into Booklet 2, with a focus on "beads." We look forward to a fun experience in Music with our recorders!
Our Veteran's Day Song
All 4th and 5th graders are performing We Remember, written by John Jacobson and Mac Huff, for the Veteran's Day Celebration on November 11th, 2009. We will be performing in the football stadium, watch for the invitation to attend!
Recorder Karate for 4th and 5th!
This awesome program is the one we will use to expand our program and create beautiful music! Just like a Dojo, however, our studio will adhere to strict rules of behavior. Everyone can succeed. Everyone can follow the rules.

We will celebrate everyone's success with Belts--just like we do in Karate: each student will work at their own pace to receive the next level of belt by practicing and performing each required piece.
Here is the download for all pieces of music for the white through black belt program.
