Arts Education is the education of the whole child.
Welcome to the Fine Arts Studio!

There is no limit to the places your imagination and creativity can take you. So, with that in mind, we will experience a world of art, music and theatre and learn to think critically and creatively about all the things we do!

This website is here to provide you information about what we are doing in 4th and 5th grade Fine Arts. We look forward to sharing all we learn through art exhibits, performances and online. It's a big, big world out there and there is so much to learn!

RJ Richey's Art Gallery is on the web!

Check out our exhibit on Artsonia. It is a wonderful showcase for students' work. Parent permission forms are still available for download in the Art section. Only students whose parents have given permission have artwork posted when the work is completed. It will be a growing gallery of great work!

I am also excited to share our new Fine Arts Studio Blog, created this year for 4th and 5th graders and their families. It is meant for interaction--take a look at the pages, and soon, there will be images, podcasts and treasure hunts on museum websites on which you will be able to comment.

Don't forget to take a look at the Fine Arts Reading list: there are great books for reading anytime! Also, here's a glimpse of the Bluebonnet Books for 2009-10! Enjoy the stories and the illustrations!

We're collecting Box Tops!
Our Box Tops took 5th grade to the Blanton Museum of Art! Help us earn extra money for the Fine Arts budget by clipping Box Tops. See the website for the list of participating products:

Please collect in a ziploc and send them with your child to school.
Thank you!
It's All About the Arts in the Fine Arts Studio at RJ Richey!
The Arts go hand in hand with everything we do!

Watch for the Fine Arts Newsletter which will come home with your student. It will provide information about our lessons and the work we are doing, and also share information about the Arts in our community and region. There is so much to see and do--all of which will enhance your child's appreciation for the Arts!
