Teen Parenting
A number of educational and social services are available to pregnant students in the Burnet school district enabling them to continue high school through graduation despite the obstacles they will face as teen parents.
Teen Parenting classes address many subjects:

* Appropriate pre-natal care
* Labor and delivery
* Proper nutrition for mother and baby
* Breast feeding
* Parenting
* Child Development
* Counseling
* Social service networking.

Students continue their studies through home instruction for six weeks after delivery. Early Head Start, located immediately adjacent to the Highland Lakes Achievement Center, provides day care once students return to campus through graduation. Assistance with transportation to and from school, as well as to and from doctors and social service appointments, is also available.
