Presidential Election 2008 - Mock Vote at Quest |
 |
 |
Almost the real deal
Social Studies instructors Roger Daugherty and Nita Spivey launched a mock voter registration drive last week having all Quest High School students complete and file sample copies of the real voter registration applications they will encounter when they become of age.
Daugherty (center front) and Spivey (right) then served as election judges during the mock vote held on election day.

Decisions, Decisions! |
Students who came prepared with their sample Voter Registration Cards lined up outside the "polls" awaiting their chance to enter the voting booths at Quest High School. Student voters seriously considered the candidates before casting their final ballots.
Although none of the students voted a straight party ticket, the Republicans nailed the Quest elections across the board.
Republican candidate John McCain and running mate Sarah Palin took 58.3% of the vote to Democrat Barack Obama's 37.5%. Libertarian Bob Barr landed 4.2% of the presidential votes.
